What the RO Membrane Does
The RO membrane is the most critical component of your reverse osmosis system. It's a semi-permeable thin-film composite membrane that forces water through microscopic pores, blocking dissolved contaminants including lead, arsenic, nitrates, fluoride, chlorine byproducts, and total dissolved solids (TDS). Over time, the membrane loses efficiency and must be replaced to maintain water quality and flow rate.

When to Replace
Replace your RO membrane every 2–3 years, or sooner if you notice a significant increase in TDS readings, reduced water flow, or a change in taste. Using a TDS meter to monitor your filtered water is the best way to know when replacement is due.
Installation
